BY CAR
Directions from the M25:
Travel to M25 Junction 27, and go on to the M11 southbound. Follow the M11 south until it divides to join the A406 (North Circular Road). Take the Left Hand fork signposted A406 South. Do not follow the signs for the City.
The end of the motorway joins the A406 from the left, creating a 4 lane road for a short distance. You need to be in one of the outside 2 lanes (this can be tricky if traffic is heavy). Proceed south (dual carriageway with slip roads) passing the junctions for Redbridge, and Ilford.

Leave the A406 at the Barking junction. At the roundabout at the bottom of the slip road, turn right, taking the 3rd exit towards East Ham (Barking Road). Proceed West along Barking Road through several sets of traffic lights until you have passed the lights at East Ham Town Hall (big red Victorian building on the left just before the lights). 3/4 mile further, you pass the ground on your right (behind a parade of shops, including the Hammers Shop). At the next lights (Boleyn Arms Pub on right hand corner), turn right into Green Street. The main entrance to the ground is 200 yards on your right.

From the East
The route on the M11 can also be used if approaching from the East
Or take A13 into London, at the crossroads with the A117 turn right, after one mile turn left into Barking Road A124, after 0.75 mile turn right into Green Street, the ground is on your right.
From the South (M25)
Approaching Dartford Tunnel, keep in left hand lane go through tunnel, and exit M25 at junction 31 – turn left at roundabout onto A13. Follow signs to London A13 over roundabout & 2 flyovers for over 10 miles. Stay in right had lane following signs to The City pass under North Circular. After nearly a mile, keep in right hand lane and turn right under flyover onto High Street South. At t-junction after a mile turn left into Barking Road.

Alternatively In London join the A206 crossing the river via the Blackwall Tunnel, once through turn right on to the A13 (Canning Town), at the roundabout take the second exit A124 Plaistow, turn into Green Street 1.5 miles later where you will meet the ground.
From The North
From the M1 get onto the A1 at junction 2/3 – join A406 North Circular & continue East for 17 miles until junction with A124 Barking Road. Turn right into Barking Road, and continue for 2 miles as above.
Alternatively Take the M1 into London, turn right into onto the A12, after one mile turn left into Blake Hall Road, after 0.75 mile the road forks continue straight on into the Centre Road, when reaching the T junction turn right, then take the forth right into Green Street where the ground will be one mile on your left hand side.
From the North West
From the M40, at junction 1 stay on the A40 for 10 miles before turning onto the A406 North Circular East Bound until junction with A124, then as above.
From the West
M40, A40, A40(M), at the end of which join the A501 continue past King's Cross, follow signs for Shoreditch and Whitechapel, take the A13 (Limehouse and Canning Town), at the roundabout in canning Town turn off on the A124 Barking Road (signposted Plaistow),turn into Green Street 1.5 miles later where you will meet the ground.

Parking
The best areas to look for spaces are roads off on the left of Barking Road, once you are past the lights at East Ham Town Hall. You can park at Newham General Hospital, where there is a pay and display car park, which costs £1.50 for four hours, or £3.50 for six. To find the hospital; From Barking Road, passing the ground on your right, after a few traffic lights turn left into Prince Regent Lane (Newham General is signposted at the lights ), the hospital is just up this road and is about a 15 minute stroll away from the ground'.

It is not recommend to park near the ground. It can take up to an hour to get back to the A13. Park back on one of the side roads along the Barking Road and walk half a mile or so.
Try the car parks in Barking town centre and get on the District line (Platform 6) for 3 stops... there's a car park behind the station, or there's one at the side of the Town Hall, and there's one opposite that (next to the Victoria pub - but parking in them will mean a 5 min walk to the station) it'll be easier to get to the A13 that way.
Alternatively you can come off the M25 at J29 and take the A127 to Upminster. Park at Upminster tube station (£1 for the day) and for £3.50 you can get a return ticket to Upton Park which will get you there in less than 25 minutes'.

Alternatively, park at North Greenwich station and take the Jubilee and then District line.

TUBE/TRAIN

The nearest tube station is Upton Park which is on the District Line. The station is a short walk from the ground. Please note that West Ham tube station is nowhere near the ground. The queue at Upton Park tube station after the game can be horrendous. You are better off going for a couple of pints and letting the queues die down. There are plenty of pubs along Plaistow High Road which are only a 5-10 minute walk from the stadium and as long as visitors are 'well behaved' they are more than made welcome

The other nearest station is East Ham, also on the District Line.

Forest Gate station is about 25 minutes walk from Upton Park, and it's much less busy than Upton Park Station after the final whistle. It is served by local Great Eastern trains from Liverpool Street. Turn right out of the station, then left at the corner next to the pizza shop into Hampton Road. Walking down Hampton Road, turn first right into Richmond Road, a small street with traffic calming and lots of roundabouts. Go straight down this road and this eventually becomes Green Street. Then for the long walk down Green Street which has lots of shops and takeaways, before arriving at Upton Park.

Barking is also near the ground for railway services.

Bus stations at Stratford & Barking are nearby.

PUBS

Most pubs around the ground are home fans only.

The Internet Football Fans’ Guide & the “football fans guide” recommend “The Central” on Barking Road, although colours are best covered up apparently. It welcomes families & has a pool table.

The Boleyn Pub on the corner by the away fans entrance is generally home support only, but may be fine for away fans – however as this is a “London Derby” it may be best avoided.

The Queens is on green street, and away fans are often in there, rarely problems.

Duke of Edinburgh is to the left as you come out of the tube station, slightly further away from the ground and so is quieter. Again away fans are sometimes in there – so it’s not strict but take care.

The Green Man, about 10 mins from the ground on the junction of Plashet Grove and Katherine Road. Again being further away it’s a bit quieter. Pool tables & big screen TV.
To find it if you are coming from Upton Park tube station, turn left out of the station. Take the 2nd exit on the mini roundabout and walk down Plashet Grove, you will see it on right hand side of you when you reach the traffic lights.

Alcohol is served inside the ground.

Pubs to avoid are The Village & The Greengate on Barking Road.

Drinking in the centre of town en-route might be advisable.

New Moon / Full Moon - Leadenhall Market EC3 5 - 6 30pm

Hamilton Hall - the Wetherspoons inside Liverpool Street station – although colours probably not welcome

Pride of Spitalfields – Heneage Street E1 – nearest station Liverpool Street, or Aldgate East tube.

FOOD

Ken’s café on Green Street – with a huge fry up menu
Green Street café
Nathans Pies & Eels on Barking Road
Cassettaris café on Barking Road.

Inside the ground the “hammers dog” & beef & onion pies are said to be good. As is the coffee.
