Please also note that smoking is not permitted in the seated areas of the ground.
Beware the away toilets, which have been blasted by visiting fans as the worst in the league! Even with out a full complement of away fans there probably won’t be enough toilets.

Pre-booking is essential. Visually impaired may sit anywhere in the stadium with commentary provided. There are 4 parking spaces for away fans. Drop off points are also available. GETTING THERE
From the South A1(M) exit at Dishforth following sign marked Thirsk A168, Teesside A19. Dual carriageway it now along the A19. Exit A19 after 30 odd miles onto A66 (east) signposted Middlesbrough. Follow the A66 (signposted Teeside from the A1) past Darlington's new ground and on into Middlesbrough. Carry on up the A66, through the centre of Middlesbrough and you will pick up signs for the Riverside Stadium.
From the North A19 it over the Tees and turn left onto A66 for Middlesbrough
PARKING
Although there is no parking available directly at the stadium itself, there are a number of private parks (mostly on waste land) nearby.
It is suggested on the internet football fans guide that away fans should follow the route marked "away coaches" from the A66, as this passes many private car parks along the river, all priced at £4'. Bear in mind though that if you do park at one of these car parks, then it may take 45 minutes or so after the game, before you can exit them.
Otherwise, as the stadium is about one mile from the town centre you could also consider parking in a long stay car park in the town centre (about a 15-20 minute walk away from the ground). Follow crowds to ground via railway station or through underpass next to St John's Church and new UGC cinema complex off Marton Road. The retail area around the McDonalds near to the Doctor Browns pub, is free on Saturdays. To reach it, simply go past the exit for Riverside on A66, then take the next exit at the Gala bingo and cinema complex. Head for this complex and the parking is on your left'.
BY TRAIN
The ground is walkable (about a mile) from Middlesbrough train station, which is on Albert Road. This station is not on a main line and is served by trains from Darlington.
If you come out of the rear station entrance, turn right onto Bridge Street East. Go Straight past the Bridge pub and then take the next right into Wynward Way for the ground.
If you come out of the main entrance, turn left onto Zetland Road. Then left again into Albert Road and proceed under the railway bridge. Turn immediately right into Bridge Street East, going past the Bridge pub (not recommended for away fans) and then take the next right into Wynward Way. The stadium is down this road.
BUSES
Nos 36, 37 and 38 all go from the central bus station up to North Ormesby and just another underpass away from the temple of Borodom. There are buses shuttling from many outlying pubs and the bus station. Just follow the crowd!
DRINKING & EATING
There is very little in the way of pubs or eating establishments nearby, you will need to head into the town centre for these.
Doctor Browns is a ten minute walk away from the ground at the bottom of Corporation Road, in the city centre. This pub serves real ale, has SKY TV with a good mix of home and away fans, both inside and outside of the pub. From outside the stadium with the main entrance behind you, head over to your left and turn right down the road, going under a bridge. A little way down this road on your left, there is an underpass. Go down through the underpass and as you emerge on the other side turn right and go down the road and through another underpass. You will emerge in a small retail park (there is a McDonalds over on your right), which you walk through unto you come to a main road. Turn right along this road and you will see the Doctor Browns pub over on your left.
Tuxedo Royale strip bar is a big white ship located opposite the stadium on the River Tees. It's £1 to get in and then its £1 a pint before 1.30pm and then £2.20 a pint thereafter with free strippers. Away fans can get admittance if not wearing colours.
PLACID Cafe Bar, Albert Road, Middlesbrough. Comfortable modern bar in the centre of Middlesbrough -15 minutes walk from the ground. Food and drink and good atmosphere. Televised football. Live music. Excellent for whole family, very child friendly. Face painting for kids. Programmes and fanzines available. Kronenburg bottles 2 for 1. All draught £2 and free soft drinks for kids. Food and pint £4.90. Special matchday food - parmesans, beef'n'onion, steak'n'ale pies, chilli and rice. Also on the same stretch of road as various pubs and sandwich shops. In town centre and handy for train and bus stations.
There are plenty of bars from station to ground if you take the alternative route. If police are not sending us on a particular route from the station then follow this route. From platform down steps and turn left, outside gates and turn right. Walk 10 yards to junction, turn right under bridge and go up road. Do not go in Bridge pub or Gilzeans and zetland near the station. The safer pubs are as you get to them Cornerhouse right under station, Spensleys, Exchange and Absolute vodka bar (opposite side of road) .Bar fresco, Flares?(used to be the wellington) Placid, barracuda etc. These are all situated on Albert Road. At the end of the road is a walkabout, if turning right there are 4 or 5 pubs and shopping area, turn left and you come to Hairy lemon, central, another new vodka bar, Empire,Jumpin jaks (night club now open on match afternoons). Forward to doc browns, which is as mentioned earlier quite close to ground and is less than a mile from the station. Just round the corner from docs on the right is the Ironopolis workmens club which allows small groups of away fans in at a time. Prices in club are £1.50 a pint or thereabouts. It is a big club and does allow women and children in thus gets very busy by 1.30 pm. Most pubs have offers on 2 for 1 or £1.00 to £1.50 a pint before and after the match. Docs is a favourite drinker for away fans and gets ridiculously full. If police are ok then you can drink outside some of pubs. Otherwise, there is a bar at the back of the away stand within the ground (£2.50 per pint)
On the corner opposite Doctor Browns, is also a sandwich bar, which does amongst other things - trays of roast potatoes and gravy.
