Away fans are situated in the lower tier of the School End, where 1,279 fans can be accommodated. If demand requires then the upper tier can also be allocated, increasing the number of seats to around 2,500. The upper tier doesn’t necessarily mean a better view – unless you are at the front you can’t see all the goal at the near and or some of the pitch. Leg room between seats is a little tight. Searches are more than a little thorough, stewarding can certainly be over zealous.
Disabled facilities Spaces - 13 for visiting supporters in the Ellerslie Road Stand Disabled toilet - in X block of the same stand Cost - free for disabled person and helper Booking - essential (call Pam at the Palace box office for further details) Parking - street parking in Ellerslie Road for those with orange badges. Blind facilities - seats with commentary in X Block, of the Ellerslie Road Stand.

PARKING Parking is available at a cost of £5.00 in the BBC car park on match days. Once in Shepherds Bush your best bet for parking is in one of the side roads off Goldhawk or Uxbridge Road (which lead off Shepherds Bush Green). It is becoming increasingly difficult to find places so arrive early. Don’t use the apartment block car parks, as you will be liable to wheelclamping. There is street parking to the north of the A40 flyover, in the Flowers Estate, west of Bloemfontein Road; south of Uxbridge Road; an in the Ariel Way industrial estate - although you should keep valuables out of sight – there is a car park on the Ariel Way estate opposite the BBC Tv Centre. Car park located at end of Silver Road (near Royal Mail unit) costs £6 & is open from 4.30pm to 11pm .
By train: Acton Central Station, then bus.
Kensington Olympia can be accessed via Watford or Clapham Junction. Quicker to get to ground than using tube line & cuts down journey time. Olympia station is about 20-25 mins walk away from ground.
By Bus : Numbers 72, 95, 220 to White City Tube Station on Wood Lane (Just by the BBC TV centre). Numbers 207, 260, 283 to Shepherds Bush Tube Station (Hammersmith & City Line) on Uxbridge Road. From Hammersmith Piccadilly, District, or Hammersmith & City Line Tube stations take 72 or 283 to Shepherds Bush. 293 runs from Hammersmith to North Acton 72 runs from Roehampton to East Acton 95 runs from Southall to Shepherd’s Bush 220 runs from Harlesdon to Wandsworth 391 also goes past White City Station
By tube: Nearest tube is White City on the Central line. Come out of the station and cross the traffic lights straight infront of you. Then turn right up that road (Wood Lane), and walk for about 100m until you meet the first road on your left, this should be White City road. Walk down this for about 200m. The White City Road then curves off to the right, while South Africa road carries on in the same direction. Take the South Africa road past some astro turf playing fields on your left and eventually to Loftus Road StadiumShepherds Bush on the Hammersmith and City line is also very close to the ground and will deposit you on the Uxbridge Road. Turn right out of the station and then if you are in the upper tier look out for Loftus Road (4th road on your right opposite Zain Textiles) then first left into Ellerslie Road or for the lower tier carry on down the Uxbridge road a bit further on until Bloemfontain Road (7th on your right signposted Evangelical Church). Take 3rd right into South Africa Road
Note – the Central line does go to Shepherds bush but it’s a different one & much longer walk than from White City.
By Foot : The ground is about a half an hour walk from Hammersmith Broadway (tube and bus station). Buses can be caught from the Broadway.
PUBS (please note some of this pub information may be a little out of date as it was put together a few years ago)
Springbok This is the recommended pub and is usually full of Palace. South Africa Road
Open all day. Sandwiches & pies (1.50) available
Located next to the ground, 2 through rooms, one bar, pool table TVs. Unsurprisingly gets heaving on match days, so outside drinking is often the order of the day no matter what the weather. Plastic glasses. This is the pub that away fans often claim to have 'taken' when they come to Loftus Road. In truth few QPR fans drink there. An Irish run Enterprise Inns 'Free' House serving Kronenburg, Guiness, Fosters, Labbats, John Smiths Extra Smooth, Strongbow, Whitebread Keg Bitter. Fair range of bottled beers.
Handily placed next door to a chip shop and bookies.
If arranging to meet beware! There is a bar on (well under really) Shepherds Bush Green called the Springbok Sports Bar so be careful when planning to meet up.
Springbok Sports Bar Shepherds Bush Green
South African bar located downstairs from the shops on the Green and not to be confused with the Springbok pub which is located next to the football ground.
Two pool tables, loads of TVs, mind the step in the middle of the bar. When busy in the evenings the bottle bar at the back opens. Long drag up the stairs to the toilets.
Fosters, Kronenburg, Guinness and big range of bottled SA beers.
Foodwise try the Boerie, a spicy South African sausage which comes with chips (£2.15) or in a roll (£2.10)
Where the hell is everyone warning... Remember - this isn't the same place as the Springbok pub which is next to the ground, so be careful if planning to meet up.
The Green Shepherds bush – exit shepherds bush underground on Hammersmith & City line – turn left out of station – The Green is short way down on the left, across from shepherds Bush Green where plenty of other pubs are to be found.
Weathersppons in Vue complex opposite central line entrance to shepherds bush underground staion.
British Queen Uxbridge Road
Another Irish run pub with two bars front and back. Large screen TV in the front bar, small TV in back. The bigger front bar is mainly locals watching the horses on the box. The back bar is generally a friendly crowd of R's fans (dad with kids in tow meeting his mates for a swift one etc.) Not usually away fans there.
Stella, Heineken, keg Flowers, Guinness
Queen Adelaide Uxbridge Road Corner of Adelaide Grove and Uxbridge Road
Big two bar Charrington's pub, public bar to the right saloon to the left, TVs in both.
Caffereys, Carling, Grolsch, Guinness.
Flanagan's 284-6 Uxbridge Road
New large 2 bar Irish theme pub, increased in size considerably last season (if it continues to expand at its present rate it will reach Notting Hill by the Millennium).
Carling, Fosters, Harp, Caffereys, Grolsch, Guinness, John Smiths Extra Smooth
Reasonably priced food (for London that is) approx 3-4 quid a meal, burgers, sausage and mash etc. Some veggie food.
Stripped wooden floors, telly. Tends to get packed.
Harveys (formerly Moon on the Green) Corner of Uxbridge Road and Wood Lane Food served from 11am-10pm. Open all day
Used to be a J.D.Weatherspoons pub but has now tarted itself up a bit and tries to be a bit like Edwards across the road - a sort of hotel bar type style.
Usually people on the door, so you may need to look the part to get in - not sure whether they let you in with football shirts! (or at least split up into a smaller group if there's lots of you).
Edwards Corner of Shepherds Bush Green and Wood Lane
Part of the chain of 'Edwards' pubs that tries to look like a 1920s hotel lounge. 'Artwork' on the walls and pricy beer. May be someone on the door but they do let fans in.
Guiness, Carling, Cafferys, Staropramen, Grolsch.
The Coningham Arms 284-6 Uxbridge Road
Corner of Uxbridge Road and Percy Road
Small public bar at front on Uxbridge Road, entrance to the larger back bar is down Percy Road. Back bar has two pool tables, big screen TV, decent juke box.
Carling, Fosters, Harp, Caffereys, Tennants Extra, Guinness.
Like most pubs around the area this is an Irish run, down to Earth basic boozer with a good mixture of people.
White Horse Uxbridge Road Next to Blockbusters
Just because a pub has personality, it doesn't mean it has to be liked. However, there is something extra about the White Horse that has appeal- almost morbid fascination - which makes it an important part of match day for many Rangers fans. Although situated on the Uxbridge Road, It is impossible to find. The front of the pub is about the size of a doorway and punters need to trust their sense of smell rather than their sight to find it. However, as if it were the tardis, it opens up into a reasonably sized pub, where it is quite possible to find a seat an hour before kick off. Naturally, the most important aspect of any pub is the quality of beer and because it is an Irish pub the Guiness is first rate and all the beer is well kept. The Strong Lager is Bud on draft. On matchdays, the pub is busy, but the efficiency of the bar staff means you will not have to wait more than a few minutes to be served, and the prices are reasonable. One of the most enjoyable parts of the pub is the mix of people inside. It is a multi racial establishment, populated by very old, very drunk Irish men around the bar, shouting at horse racing on the big screen. The bar maid keeps them in order. Around the pool table, Rangers fans will take on the locals (and lose usually). There is usually a sprinkling of away supporters. Recently Bristol City fans were appropriately singing 'I've got a brand new combine harvester'. There was a 'who can shout most drunkenly' competition with Tottenham fans, and last season saw a 30 minute rendition of 'there's only one Jamie Pollock' after the last game of the season performed to anyone who was willing to listen. This seems to be a good pub for those who want top beer, a good chat, as long as you do not have a phobia of urine on the floor of toilets. Fosters, Holsten, Guinness, John Smiths Extra Smooth
Walkabout Shepherds Bush Green
Huge Aussie/Kiwi/SA pub on two floors, part of the Walkabout chain. Serious security on the doors complete with metal detectors etc. They let folk with QPR colours in, although what their policy with away fans is I don't know. Cinema sized TV screen. Can get very busy and very lively in the evening or lunchtime if any southern hemisphere sport happens to be on.
Guiness, Fosters, Cafferys, John Smiths Extra Smooth, as well as a wide range of Southern Hemisphere beers.
Fringe and Firkin Goldhawk Road Corner of Goldhawk Road and Shepherds Bush Green. Open all day.
Usual Firkin style - wooden floors, church pews, etc. This one is next to the Bush Theatre (there is a connecting door) which explains its theatre theme. TVs dotted around.
Cask beers are: Shakespeare (5.0 abv), Fringe, Thespian, Dogbolter and Wasps (named after a bunch of rugby playing squatters). Guinness, Stella and Carlsberg and good range of bottled beers
Food isn't cheap and is a bit poncy - Salmon Fishcakes 5.95, Chicken with wild mushrooms 7.75. Sandwiches 2.50 and snacks available.
Bushranger Goldhawk Road Corner of Goldhawk Road and Wells Road
Wooden floors, sawdust (!), TVs.
Changing range of (not always well kept) cask ales. Kroneburg, Beck’s, Fosters, Carling, John Smiths Extra Smooth. Big range of flavoured vodkas (including jelly baby, garlic) as well as a wider than usual range of bottled beers (Sol, Molson etc.)
Serves a wide range of not very cheap food - burger and chips £4.75, bowl of chips £1.50 plus sandwiches, salads etc.
There is an upstairs bar which isn't often open (and has no draught beer when it is) but the area allows overspill from downstairs and gives the chance of sitting on the roof if the weather is nice.
Has been known to be closed by the Police for reasons no one can figure.
Orange Kipper Goldhawk Road Corner of Goldhawk Road and Richford Street
Noisy lively free house with single long island bar and no cask ale. Big screen TV, loads of ephemera (junk) around the walls.
Kroneburg, Stella, Fosters, Carling, John Smiths Extra Smooth, Guinness.
The Mail Coach Inn Next to Shepherds Bush Tube - Central Line
Split level pub completely refurbished last season. Stripped wooden floors, several TVs - one large screen. The landlord is Willie. He is a Q.P.R. supporting Irishman who likes a good chat about the R's. He speaks about the R's with passion, fervour and frequent expletives. He follows Q.P.R. as often as he can, and seems to prefer away games to home games The Mail Coach is very much in the mould of most of the pubs in the area, i.e. populated by the local Irish community and what appear to be stray dogs. They are all either too pissed to talk to you (at twelve when you turn up) or they are having playful banter with Willie......... There are hardly any other home fans in the place, ever. As it's the nearest pub to the tube, it mostly attracts away fans, on some occasions quite a crowd of them. There has never been any trouble It has got a (concrete) garden that sits right on the roundabout, so as long as you haven't got asthma or any other respiratory conditions, it is good for the summer month(s). They do various snacks and sandwiches but I haven't got a clue about the prices. Nothing else to add really, a quiet place where you can drink, read, chat, they have got a big screen, and another couple of telly screens in the place. The big screen is usually reserved for the locals, i.e. horse racing, but he has SKY and Grandstand on the other tellies.
Guiness, Carlsberg, Cafferys, Strongbow, Tetley, Worthington, Harp, sometimes a cask ale..
Alcohol is not available in the away end
Food First choice takeaway by the Springbok pub on South Africa Road is the only outlet really near to the ground. Around Shepherd’s Bush Green is a Burger King, Macdonalds. Uxbridge road has a Domino’s pizza, House of Pies & KFC, plus various other takeaways, & restaurants.
