Away fans are normally placed in the upper tier of the West Stand (the Leppings Lane) end of the ground, where up to 3,700 away supporters can be accommodated. There are a number of supporting pillars in the West Stand, which could impede your view (all tickets state that there is a post in view).

DISABLED FACILITIES – spaces for 9 visiting supporters in the West Stand Lower. Free for disabled person and helper. Booking is essential. Parking is subject to availability. For blind supporters there are headphones with commentary available throughout the stadium.
PALACE COACHES depart from Homesdale Road at 8.15am fare is £26 for Gold members, £29 for Season Ticket Holders and £32 for guests.

Hillsborough is about approx 2-3 miles from the station and the best way to get there is by Supertram. Go to the back of the station (follow the tram signs) and take a Blue Line, Malin Bridge service direct to Hillsborough (about a 10 minute walk from ground). Alternatively by changing at Cathedral or any station thereafter onto a Middlewood (yellow) service get even nearer to the away end by getting off at Leppings Lane which is just a right by the ground. Trains run on both routes every 10 minutes. Journey takes around 20 minutes.
You can get a taxi up to the ground or the bus station is a one minute walk from the railway station. Cross over at the pedestrian crossing, and follow the signs. Head for the far side of the terminus. Bus no. 53 to Ecclesfield and 77 & 80 run regularly to the ground about every 15 mins with the journey taking around 30 mins. On matchdays regular shuttle buses run from the road at the far side of the bus station -they are marked football!
HOW TO GET THERE BY CAR AND WHERE TO PARK
Hillsborough Stadium is situated 3 miles north of the city centre, but you are advised to avoid this route and approach the ground from the north instead – it’s not the shortest route – but probably the easiest.
From The North/South/ East
Exit the M1 at junction 36 and follow the A61 towards Sheffield. Continue along the road for a few miles until the 2nd roundabout. Take the 3rd exit (Leppings Lane) - the ground is situated on the left-hand side.
From the West
Take the A57 for Sheffield. As you approach the city the road splits in two - take the left fork onto the Rivelin Valley Road (A6101). Continue for approximately 3.75 miles, turn left (onto one way system) and follow the road round to the right onto Holme Lane. This road then becomes Bradfield Road. At the junction with the A61 Penistone Road, turn left towards Barnsley. Hillsborough Stadium is on the left-hand side after Hillsborough Park.
PARKING
There is some street parking to be had if you arrive early, some in the area just north of the ground, otherwise there are some unofficial car parks along the A61 that charge in the region of £2-£3. There are also some car parks near the station.
There is a large car park at the Owlerton greyhound stadium – 10 min walk from ground. You could also park at Meadowhall Shopping Centre for free just by junction 34 of M1 & get yellow tram to leppings lane
WHERE TO DRINK
Most pubs near the ground tend to be home fans only.
The Horse & Jockey, Wadsley Lane (top end junction with Worrall Lane, ¾ mile from ground. Sandwiches available. Pool, darts, TV. Families welcome. Open all day. This is the pub designated for the away fans by the police. It’s around 5-10 mins walk from away end. Go down to bottom of Leppings Lane – across Catch Bar Lane & left into Middlewood Road. Turn right into Wadsley Lane passing Park Hotel & pub is around 300 yards further up on right hand side of road.
Wadsley Jack on Rural Lane is about a ten minute walk (uphill!) from the visitors end, going away from Sheffield Centre.
The Norfolk Arms, Grenoside, on the way into Sheffield on the A61 from the M1. Good selection of hot bar meals served 12-2.15. TV. Families welcome lunchtimes. Open all day.
The Red Lion, 95 Penistone Road, Grenoside, is also on the A61 is a large restaurant/ pub serving wide range of food. Families welcome if buying food. Menu served 12-10pm. Open all day.
The White Horse, 104 Halifax Road (on A61). Large football friendly pub with big-screen TV. Bar snacks served all day. Open all day.
The Fox, Foxhill Road – on side road off A61, 0.2miles further down road than White Horse – easy to walk to ground – steep hill back. Large pub, small room with pool table. Wide menu available from 5.50 for 2 meals. TV, darts. Families welcome. Large car park. Open all day. THIS PUB WAS CLOSED SEASON 2001/2002

The Howard Pub (Mansfield) 37 Howard Street
In terms of pubs, most away supporters use the Howard which is opposite the station. The bitters are Mansfield and Mansfield Smooth (nice) or Riding bitter. The Howard serves decent food, and there is a pool table and various games machines. Breakfast served from 10am. Lunches 11-4. Disabled facilities. Open 11-3, 7-11.
The Globe is further up the same hill. They do a great cheap range of burgers/dinners in there.
The Penny Black - walk out of the station – turn right – through the bus station – out the other end and the pub is across the road always been welcoming when we’ve been there before – also do food.

I do reccomend Varsity on Eccleshall Rd about ?4 in a taxi from the station. Good food and always got footy on. Then grab a taxi to the gorund. All welcome, sky tv and loads of room to sit, perfectly safe foe away fans.
Alcohol is not available to visiting supporters in the away section of the ground.
FOOD
Those travelling on the M1 will pass the usual McDonalds etc. By the White Horse pub are some shops including fish & chip shop & pork shop serving Sheffield speciality of hot pork sandwiches with stuffing & crackling for 1.05. The shopping street at Middlewood has a wide choice.
Few takeaways near ground – Hoong Too, Mitchells & Four Lanes are recommended in the football fans guide.
Inside the ground: Pies are supposed to be good, although lack of variety.
